Writer's pictureCrisis Talks Ministry

I think we're surrounded!

Let's set the stage:

In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.

And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

The COVID19 pandemic has brought about changes in our world that many, would have definitively said were “not possible” just 6 months ago. As we watch and experience the unfolding drama and draconian policies being signed into law, I can’t help but think, as I’m sure you are too “that was fast!”

Indeed, for those that have access to the writings of Ellen White, the statement found in Testimonies volume 9, page 11 seem to capture succintly the current situation:

“The agencies of evil are combining their forces and consolidating. They are strengthening for the last great crisis. Great changes are soon to take place in our world, and the final movements will be rapid ones.” 9T 11.2

However, long before Ellen White penned those words, the Holy Spirit inspired His messengers to communicate a message to us, giving us glimpses of what to look for just before Jesus comes back and how to escape the trouble.

Luke 21:20 “…when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies…”

Genesis 19 “…escape for thy life…”

Many people, both in the church and not, are sensing the urgency of leaving the cities of this world and finding a country retreat where they can grow their own food, walk freely among nature and be free from the distressing sights and sounds of city life.

At the same time however, the arch enemy of God is relentlessly placing obstacles in the way of those that want to leave. He is hedging up the way so that soon it will be impossible to leave.

Have you seen this?

What about this?

Travellers from the 35 states on New York’s mandatory quarantine list will be “given information about the quarantine” and “reminded that it is required, not optional” at the new checkpoints, de Blasio said at a press briefing Wednesday.

Those who do not follow the quarantine face fines of up to $10,000, including $2,000 for the first violation and $5,000 for the second.

Does that tiering of fines for violation of state laws sound familiar? Like Sunday blue laws familiar...

It’s time now to seriously make preparation for moving out and away from the cities. If God’s Word and warning mean anything to us, we should be listening to them and making the necessary adjustments.

Claim the promises:

Psalm 37:1-11 - God is fighting for us

Revelation 12:6, 14 - God has a place prepared for us

Maranatha!
