Dem Seh Pressure Bus Pipe!

"The saying goes that increased pressure will eventually burst the pipe"

We knew where we were heading, we just didn't know the route we would take in getting there. We didn't know the twists and turns that would make up the journey. But now that we are here, it's beginning to get very, VERY uncomfortable.

Almost two years into this "new normal" and our world is barely recognisable. How quickly things change. How quickly people change! However, where we are now is not the final stop on the way to the final destination.

Don't be fooled...this stop looks very similar to to the final stop...but stay on the bus, don't get off!

Let me share a scripture with you that helps me to put into perspective a few things.

Luke 21:25-28

25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

The seas and the waves roaring??? What....you mean the Pacific, the Indian, the Atlantic waters are going to get rough and choppy? I don't get it?!

Let me explain. Well, let the Bible interpret itself.

Isaiah 17:12-13

12 Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!

13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.

Isaiah 60.4-5

4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.

5 Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

Revelation 17:1, 15

1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:

15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

The Bible has, with three witnesses, given an understanding that the seas spoken of in

Luke 21:25 are talking about "people, nations, multitudes."

So the question is this...What are we to understand from the verses we read in Luke regarding "the seas and waves roaring" and "men's hearts failing them for fear?"

Well, one situation precipitates another, and the context of verse 25 begins in verse 6.

What precipitates the seas and the waves roaring? What causes the people of the earth to fear for the future?

War, famine, earthquakes, fearful sights...pestilences.

And the measures being put in place to "combat" this pernicious pestilence is causing the pressure to build in the "seas."

Watch this and listen for yourself:

"The pressure is enormous!" she said!

But here is the promise again from Luke 21:28

28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Isn't that GREAT news!!

Like the whistle on top of the pressure cooker, the whirring of earths multitudes tell us that the pressure is building and every so often, a little steam is let off. But when that happens, we get to see and hear what the nature of the pent up frustration and fear is like.

Let us do all that we can to make sure that when the lid blows off, we have already secured a safe place for ourselves, our families, our friends and yes, even those who class us as their enemy.

Let us, in the time we now live and the time we have left, work as Christ worked!

Yes..."pressure bus pipe" but pressure also helps to create diamonds!

Maranatha!
